When I first heard this song without seeing the music video it was super dystopian. This song was a clear message sent about Kanye’s interpretation of the times that we are in. The song talks about the importance of focusing on the fact that Black People are currently in need of a savior. Black people have been slaves. Black people have been washed in the blood of senseless killings and targeted genocide. I think the song has some interesting points for sure. I think that Travis Scott being put on this song as a feature adds to the chaotic sound of the song itself.

When I first heard the beat for this song, I thought about an old video game theme song. Then when you hear the flow on this song, it has a fun choppy and unhinged flow from both LD and S Loud respectively.

I have listened to the whole Pop Smoke album Shoot for the Stars aim for the Moon. The overall vibe of it shows off his hard side and his softer side. These are my favorite songs on there.

I had never heard of Bootychaaain or Sickboyrari before listening to their collaborative project, Bright, which was released last month. The two artists have had relatively lowkey careers. If you type in either of their names into Google, you won’t find much blog coverage, you won’t see their names headlining big festivals, just links to their various social media. They’re mysterious.

“Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them…your smile, your hope, and your courage.” –Doe Zantamata

If you are a friend of someone who struggles with their mental health, the best thing you can do is be there to talk and listen. It helps to feel included and acknowledged. Trust me, those two things go a long way.
