Ryan Roberts, aka DJ SKOLi, is the mastermind behind KinkyElevatorMusic. He produces beats and events with a long term goal to uplift and inspire creatives: to unleash the divine expressions hidden within their souls.
And who better than the man who sees sound everywhere he goes? This Hyde Park native has been a music junkie since 10 years old after purchasing The Chronic by the infamous Dr. Dre.

SKOLI’s sound has been described as an unorthodox culmination of frequencies and a gritty representation of the perseverance and heart that is the Chicago community.

Through KinkyElevatorMusic, SKOLi has produced and curated experiential events throughout the city and promoted some of the most unique styles of inner-city music around the globe.

Harmonic started off as a burb kid being given fruity loops illegally by his band instructor in Junior High. Back then he just did beat covers, but then he started trying to make his own beats. He stopped for awhile because his dad said he was being too distracted by it. A junior in high school, he picked it back up and started rapping. Rapping lasted a few months and then he went back solely to production. Time has gone by (had a musical name change midway), and he’s still making music. He derives his sounds from sounds he was raised on and is also very interested in music: jazz, funk, hip hop, electronic and rock. He hopes to one day make a film and score that film or settle for one or the other.

greggo.jpg

Greggo is the personification of Chicago. His vocals, energy and reviving content brings to life the stories which appeal and are quickly forgotten on the morning news. After his parents divorced, his family relocated to the notorious Southside of Chicago where drugs, gangs and violence quickly became part of his everyday lifestyle. Starring down a barrel of a gun Greggo realized there was much more to life. Greggo became aware that he had a strong purpose to fulfill and that his music was the perfect tool to project his story. Greggo extends an invitation into his life, inscribing the details on each and every recording. Painting from an arcane pallet; creating powerful and unforgettable imagery.

As a self-proclaimed bedroom artist, Chicago-based producer and melodist, megiapa, has evolved what first started as sound bites stitched together in Audacity into a wide range of deeply-rooted rhythms, and crisp, futuristic soundscapes.

Emerging from Chicago’s underground beat scene with her debut EP, (parenthesis) she displayed a new direction in production from her humble sampling days. In 2017, megiapa revisited those roots in collaboration with Chicago’s notable multi-instrumentalist, Ben LaMar Gay, to release the Growth EP.

She continues to harness inspiration from eclectic corners to yield an ever-evolving, but distinguishable sound all her own ranging from lo-fi hip hop and jazz to future r&b and electro-funk; always with an aim toward the afrofuture.

Loony is Normal began producing beats as a way to express himself. A self-taught musician, he crafted his sounds by cultivating a rich sense of poly-rhythm and atmosphere. His preferred tool, the Maschine MK2 drum pad, allows him to experiment with rhythms, melodies, textures, and even sonic moods in a way that developed into its own recognizable style.

Projects like “Hours of the Night” by Normal Nomez, solo project “Loose Screws:Vol.1”, and collaborations with They Lihv artist collective, Ether Jung LLC, Kinky Elevator Music Group, and The Off Brand Degen collective all showcase a universe that is dark, descending, hypnotising in its dissonance, influenced by Hip-Hop, but ultimately sound like something completely apart from other beat styles, yet somehow familiar in its outlandish-ness

Tionna Aura is a conscious, cruelty-free based artist from Indiana. Her interest in music began at a very young age, and she is continually inspired by genres of music ranging anywhere from the likes of alternative-rock, to pop, hip-hop, r&b, dance/electronic, and the list goes on. After a long road trip around the U.S. in 2016, Tionna finally decided to open up her mind and spirit and attempt to create music herself. She'd previously delved in other art forms such as painting, fashion and hair artistry.

Like anything she does, Tionna dove in head first and began learning about the music making process as a whole: learning production and creating her own beats, writing her own lyrics, mixing and mastering and music video production.
Since then, Tionna has written and produced several tracks/singles, which can be found here. Her music centers around being conscious, healthy, inspirational and frequently discusses her personal situations and struggles in relation to those concepts. Tionna’s sound continues to vary, change, and grow with every new release. Tionna is currently working on her first EP with Chicago Producer DJ SKOLi dropping in the summer of 2020.

Josh “

dj fire aux”

Josh Dubman, AKA DJ Fire Aux, is originally from a small town in Wisconsin, but eventually relocated from Wisconsin to Chicago and started DJing. Through a crazy series of events, he ended up living in Hong Kong for a few years. After a series of more crazy events, ended up back in Chicago and that’s where he is based now.

Growing up playing piano and cello, his first love outside of classical music was hip hop, but his interest and curiosity has caused him to dive deep into lots of different genres and sounds. Most of his musical selections as a DJ as well as his original productions are influenced by dance and club music, inspired by African, Latin and Caribbean sounds with obvious roots in hip hop.
